About Dr. Ruiz-Yu

Dr. Ruiz-Yu is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families address their mental health challenges. She believes strongly in improving access to treatment for all youth, in particular those at risk for serious mental illness.

Born and raised in California, her career trajectory has taken her to Texas, New York,  Massachusetts, back to California, and back again to Massachusetts. Dr. Ruiz-Yu is presently an Attending Psychologist and Instructor in Outpatient Psychiatry Services, in the Developmental Neuropsychiatry & Psychosis program at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Ruiz-Yu completed her Pre-doctoral internship and Post-doctoral fellowship at UCLA in adolescent serious mental illness. She earned her Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Boston, Master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley. Her full CV is available here.
